Built by people who've been there

Defib Hound wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built by healthcare professionals who've seen firsthand what happens when an AED is ready, and what happens when it isn't.

Why we built this

When someone collapses from sudden cardiac arrest, the next few minutes determine everything. We know this not from statistics, but from experience. Our team includes paramedics, cardiology and ICU nurses, and people working across the ambulance sector in Australia.

We've responded to cardiac arrests where a well-maintained AED made the difference between a patient walking out of hospital and a family receiving devastating news. We've also seen the frustration of arriving to find an AED with expired pads, a flat battery, or missing entirely from where it was supposed to be.

The thing is, most AED owners want to do the right thing. They buy the device with the best intentions. But life gets busy, expiry dates slip by, and monthly checks become quarterly, then annual, then forgotten entirely. It's not negligence, it's human nature.

Defib Hound exists to bridge that gap. We built a system that makes AED compliance simple enough that anyone can do it, while being thorough enough to actually matter when it counts.

Our team

Healthcare professionals building tools for the real world

Frontline experience

Our team includes paramedics and emergency responders who have used AEDs in real cardiac arrest situations. They understand what works under pressure and what doesn't.

Hospital expertise

Cardiology and ICU nurses on our team bring deep knowledge of cardiac care, resuscitation protocols, and the equipment maintenance standards used in hospital settings.

System knowledge

We work closely with people involved in ambulance services and public access defibrillator networks. We understand the bigger picture of cardiac arrest response in Australia.

Technical capability

Alongside our clinical team, we have experienced software developers who've built systems that need to work reliably, every time. Because when it comes to AEDs, reliability isn't optional.

Our approach

1

Keep it simple

AED compliance shouldn't require training or technical knowledge. We designed Defib Hound so that anyone with a smartphone can complete an inspection in under a minute. No accounts required for inspectors, no complicated workflows.

2

Be proactive, not reactive

We send reminders before things expire, not after. Our notification system gives you plenty of warning so you can order replacements before your device becomes non-compliant. No surprises, no scrambling.

3

Accessible to everyone

We offer a free plan for personal AED owners because we believe everyone deserves access to basic compliance tools. Whether you have one device at home or fifty across multiple sites, Defib Hound can help.

4

Built for Australian conditions

We're based in Australia and understand the unique challenges of AED deployment across Australia: remote locations, extreme temperatures, and the distances that can make emergency response times critical.

Our mission

Every AED should be ready when it's needed. No exceptions. We're working to make that a reality by giving AED owners the tools they need to stay compliant, without adding complexity to their lives.
